Andrew C. Chase (Head of School at Eaglebrook)

Andrew C. Chase

Head of School at Eaglebrook

Andrew C. Chase is Head of School at Eaglebrook, a 103-year-old boarding and day school for boys in grades six through nine, located in rural western Massachusetts. He is the third member of the Chase family to head the school, a position that he has held for twenty-two years.

Under his leadership, Eaglebrook has expanded its national and international reputation for excellence in education and for an innovative curriculum that includes academics, technology, the arts, student leadership training, and extensive outdoor and sports programs.

In 1983, Andrew Chase, a recent Williams College graduate, interrupted graduate studies at Columbia University to assume the position of Director of Development and Alumni Affairs at Eaglebrook. He never returned. He worked with his father, then head of school, to raise funds for major projects that included updating dormitories, expanding the athletic program, lowering Eaglebrook’s carbon footprint, and integrating technology into academics as a tool for learning.

In 2002, Eaglebrook’s trustees elected Andrew Chase to head the school. Under his leadership, the school has transformed teaching and learning in science, the arts, and technology in a new academic center. To meet post 9/11 concerns of parents, he expanded security and health care on campus.

His wife, Rachel Blain, teaches at the school and their three children, Calla, Lucy and Sam, are all Eaglebrook graduates.
